For those of you who don’t know, Project X Media shares its space with Project X: Art Gallery, located in Solana Beach, on South Cedros Avenue, in the heart of the Cedros Design District. Occupying an old converted sawmill, the gallery is approximately 1500 sq. ft, with 18′-20′ ceilings, great natural light, and most importantly, a built in bar.
One of our favorite San Diego magazines (ok, probably the favorite) is Riviera Magazine. They caught up with Chris Martino at the gallery to talk about the latest show, “New Contemporaries III”, which opened April 24th. This show features the 13 nominees for the 2010 San Diego Art Prize, and was one of the top picks in Riviera Magazine’s “guide to the best art shows”. We also happen to think Editor-in-Chief Gillian Flynn is super smart and savvy.
We also want to give a quick shout-out to photographer Ethan Pines who came to the gallery, set up his gear and took nearly 250 photos for the magazine of Chris for an entire afternoon. We’ve worked with a lot different photographers over the years for our clients through Project X Media, and Ethan was one of the most impressive and fun to work with.
If you haven’t been to our studio and gallery, we invite you to do so – the current show will be up through May 22nd. Cheers!
